This Privacy Policy explains how VitanWella (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information when you visit vitanwella.co.uk or buy one of our ebooks. We are based in the United Kingdom and follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

1. Who we are

VitanWella is a trading name of Andrzej Kijak, a sole trader based in Northampton, United Kingdom. Andrzej Kijak is the data controller responsible for your personal information. VitanWella is a small independent publisher of wellness ebooks for women over 40. For any privacy question, please email hello@vitanwella.co.uk.

2. What information we collect

  • Purchases: our ebooks are sold through Payhip. When you buy, Payhip collects your name, email address and payment details. We receive your name, email and order details so we can deliver your ebook and provide support. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Messages: if you contact us, we receive the information you choose to share (for example your name, email and message) so we can reply.
  • Website usage: our website may record technical information such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited. This is used to keep the website secure and working properly.

3. How and why we use your information

  • To deliver the ebooks you buy and provide customer support (legal basis: performance of a contract).
  • To answer your questions (legal basis: legitimate interests).
  • To protect our website from spam, fraud and attacks (legal basis: legitimate interests).
  • To keep records required by law, such as sales records for tax purposes (legal basis: legal obligation).
  • To measure and improve our adverts on Facebook and Instagram, and to show our adverts to people who have visited our website – only if you accept marketing cookies (legal basis: consent).
  • To send you news or offers only if you have given consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for automated decision-making.

4. Who we share it with

  • Payhip, our ebook store and payment platform, and its payment processors (such as Stripe and PayPal).
  • Our website hosting provider, which stores the website and its technical logs.
  • Security services (such as Wordfence), which help block malicious traffic.
  • Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd (Facebook and Instagram) – only if you accept marketing cookies, see section 5.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. When they do, they use appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. Cookies

We use only the cookies needed for the website to work, unless you agree to others through our cookie banner.

Meta Pixel (advertising). If you click “Accept” or allow marketing cookies, our website and our Payhip store use the Meta Pixel. It sends Meta information such as the pages you view, actions you take (for example starting or completing a purchase), your IP address, browser details and a cookie identifier (_fbp). Meta uses this to measure our adverts and to show our adverts to people who may be interested in them. Meta is a joint controller for this data – you can read how Meta uses it in the Meta Privacy Policy. If you click “Deny”, the Meta Pixel is not loaded on our website.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Manage consent” button on our website. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep order records for up to 6 years to meet UK tax requirements. Messages are kept only as long as needed to help you, and usually no longer than 2 years. Security logs are kept for a short period.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, please email hello@vitanwella.co.uk. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

8. Health information

Our ebooks are for educational purposes only and are not medical advice. We do not ask for health information. Please do not send us sensitive medical details.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
